Fact 10

I will try my best to keep up with these daily, factual gems despite becoming increasingly busy for the next few weeks, due to school. Therefore, I will again encourage anyone who is reading these posts and has an interesting fact to comment it on any post and make my day easier, otherwise I will be stumped all day trying to think of something interesting, yet new, to post. That being said, here is today’s fact.

Today in history on October 24th, 1901, the first successful ride over Niagara Falls in a barrel was completed by Anna Taylor. A decade later, in 1911, Orville Wright ‘flew’ (remained in the air) in a glider for 9 minutes and 45 seconds at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, setting a world record for the next 10 years.
