I will try my best to keep up with these daily, factual gems despite becoming increasingly busy for the next few weeks, due to school. Today in history on October 24th, 1901, the first successful ride over Niagara Falls in a barrel was completed by Anna Taylor. A decade later, in 1911, Orville Wright ‘flew’ (remained in the air) in a glider for 9 minutes and 45 seconds at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, setting a world record for the next 10 years.
